Writing Is Not An Alibi

Yesterday I finally got around to seeing “the Hobbit” and now I’m having FEELINGS.

Like, I-want-to-reread-the-book-for-the-10th-time feelings.

Eeep.

Faurel is still performing some plastic surgery on Karel’s cheekbones.

Faurel had his share of being bossed around as the youngest brother when he was a kid, let him have a fair vengeance now that he’s an adult AND he’s gotten that tall.

The Matriarch looks like she’s made of pure evil with those eyes O_O Anyway, well done! I love the outfits and the motifs. What colour are Faurel’s eyes?                           

Faurel’s eyes are ruby red, like Karel’s and the Matriarch’s. Other siblings have purple eyes, taken from their father.

And yes, the Matriarch is all about serious business. Try and tell her “no mom I don’t want to eat the broccoli tonight”. Just try. See what happens.

By the way, remember yesterday’s post with the recipe? Those muffin pics are taken from my Instagram. Which means that yesterday I discovered Right Click + Save As is disabled on said website.

Yes, you read that right.

I don’t know, I thought it was kind of cute how they seemed to think this would actually prevent me from downloading photos (and my own fucking photos at that). Wasn’t it cute? Apparently over there at Instagram quarters nobody ever heard of the fucking PRINT SCREEN KEY. Oh well.

It’s about time I kicked this thing back into shape, isn’t it? I hope all’s fine with you guys! On this side of the magical DastePlace, long story short, my job is quite awesome but more or less destroyed any semblance of free time and creative activity in my life outside of dorky Homestuck smutfic for the past few months. So yeah.

Things are getting stabler now and I’m going back to (relatively) normal rhythms, so since I learnt on my skin that the only way to get shit done is squeeze it into a habit, and blogging is an excellent way to stay on track, here we go again.

I’m going to assume none of you was holding their breath, but the Evil Novel Revision is of course still on hold. Today I’m going to work on the next character sheets since I haven’t drawn in forever and I really miss it. Expect a WIP later and an update on tomorrow.

Also expect recipes coming up, because I’ve gone back to baking and after sharing drool-worthy Nutella muffins pics on twitter, I’d feel guilty if I didn’t share. Also expect pics and more fun stuff, because why not? Seeyas!

• The revision is actually still going on, but it’s hard to evaluate progress since I often skip days due to the Evil Day Job. Moar news soon!
• I should really get off my lazy ass and finally do the character sheets at least for the main cast. Which would also have the added advantage of allowing me to commission moar feelsy pictures from awesome artists 8D

I think I’m going to take care of character sheets today since it’s a quiet saturday and I haven’t arted in like FOREVERZ. Then it’s off to dinner!

Anyway I don’t know you guys, but I really look forward to the day when tumblr will finally evolve and adopt incredibly innovative functions such as:

Oh-kay, after much tinkering here we go with a snippet with Eridan & Aradia being awkward cuties! It’s from Paid In Full, a post-endgame Homestuck AU my sister and me are tinkering with these days. This is more about relationships and getting-to-know-each-other than shipping in the romantic sense, and I’m not sure it makes perfect sense in places, but I hope it’s as much fun to read as it was to write (because it was pretty much a blast!).

You are largely helped in this by the fact that said rustblood looks entirely too concentrated on her maps and thingies currently occupying the whole kitchen table to pay attention to your drama. You frown and lit up the fire for the moka pot, trying to look nonchalant and probably failing spectacularly.

Ok, it’s kind of disheartening to come back to tumblr only during weekends and see that this idiotic trend of people getting idiotic anon hate for liking what they like still stands.

Then I try to imagine what it must be like for the poor anon, to be so obsessed with educating others to the Ultimate Objective Fandom Truth And How Everybody Misses The Point, or to the Ultimate Social Justice Truth And How People Liking Things Will Doom Civilization, that they’re compelled to spend their free time tracking tags for things they don’t like and looking for people to harass - and I almost feel sorry for them. Almost. 

Then I laugh. At their expenses. Knowing I’m probably a horrible person for doing so. And not giving a shit :D
